I honestly cannot remember the last awful PD that I attended. Generally speaking, an awful PD for me would consist of a topic that I already have sufficient knowledge and therefore, I don't learn anything new! Or if the topic is new to me and the presenter does not have enough knowledge on the subject. A PD would also be awful to me if the presenter passes out handouts and reads directly from the handouts! Personally I don't like PD where everything is done via group work, (talk amongst the group and then share out), that just doesn't work for me.
I really enjoy the hands-on learning type of PD. A little bit of lecture, a little bit of doing and a little bit of sharing!
